Yeah, eight months and still searching.
I finished writing my first novel ten months ago, sent it out to literary agents, found one who wanted to sign me on, signed on, did up a swell ole' pitch letter, and have spent the last eight months checking my email every five minutes hoping for that wonderful email saying, "Hey Dave, guess what!"
That moment has not occurred.
We've sent it around to 19 publishers so far (including the BIG 6- meaning those massive guys in NY) and we've had it on the desks of nine of them! That's pretty good, right? Well, yes and no. Out of those nine, we've had seven of them say, "thanks but no thanks" and two of them say, "we're still thinkin' it over, we'll let ya know."
So now we are sending out to a new batch of editors and poking those who need poking. We'll see how that goes.
I'll let you know.
One good thing with all this waiting is that now I am up to checking my email every six minutes. That's an improvement, right?
