Happy Holidays!! Here is the Holiday Card! The theme for my agent was caroling, so I gave it my own thing.

Hannibal the Carthaginian

There were a few small things that I didn't like about this painting, so I went back in and changed them. Very small changes, but it gives me some peace of mind. Compare the two if you like and see if you can spot the differences.

Hannibal of Carthage

Here's a new image I just finished today.

It seems like it has been a while since I last posted so I thought I would jot down a new event that has occurred in my artistic career. I had posted earlier that I had signed on with a children's book agent, WendyLynn & Co. http://www.wendylynn.com/ , and I am quite happy with that arrangement. However, I felt that I needed an agent to represent other aspects of my work in addition to the children's book stuff. I am glad to say that I have found just such an agent in Burrito Boards Creative! This agency handles storyboards, comps, animatics, 3D, illustration, game art, graphics and finished art. Here is the link to check out the site: http://www.burritoboards.com/index.html. As you can see, they have plenty of great talent. If you want to just check out my stuff and you are feeling particularly lazy, just click here: http://www.burritoboards.com/monette_menu.html. It feels weird to post something without artwork but that's all I have time for. I am working on a cool Hannibal painting that I will paste up here soon.

New Cover

It has been a while since I've thrown any new images on these pages. I've been consumed by a graphic novel project for the past month and have only recently come up for air. It was quite a bear and I have yet to put an official "period" to the project. Revisions on revisions. But, here is a link to a page that has a recent cover I did for Palladium books: http://www.palladiumbooks.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=1001&Product_Code=147 If you just want to see the image, it is on the right. Robots are fun.

Mermaid Piece... Yeah, Comin' Along Nice

I think I am about ready to put these in my children's book portfolio. I really feel comfortable with the style and find it to be a great break from "straight painting". The hatching is a ton of fun and is nice and quick when using a program like Photoshop. I am thinking of trying out Painter X or XI to see if the washes in the background will look cooler using a watercolor brush.

Further Along with the New Style

Here is yet another image from the new style I've been working on. My agent, WendyLynn, seems to like the style, so I've decided to expand on it a bit and see where it takes me. I think that I will do one or two more pieces using this style before I intorduce it as a portfolio element.
